Really interesting piece from Neil Perkin on Only Dead Fish on substack about how AI is impacting / will impact learning and development. he talks about generative learning and many other things.
I’m thinking it may be summarised as we used to have the 3 Es for 70/20/10
Exposure (70%)
Experience (20%)
Education (10%)
The first two are becoming more and more important. Which means when learning experiences are more case-studies and pre-work and in-work experiments with feedback, and classroom learning is about building community and learning, and includes asking AI questions to help explore a topic, that should make it better, right?
As a life-long learner who finds AI just a fascinating place to learn new things quickly, I’m rolling with the punches (fast enough? who knows?), but I suspect there’s no way to resist. Of course millions are trying to do so.
