For years women have asserted that so many deals get done on the golf course and they felt mostly excluded from being there. So I was interested and surprised while listening to Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History podcast to discover that
- the more golf a CEO plays the more likely the company is to go broke, and the more likely it is that the CEO is fired. On average the worst CEOs play 37 games per year
- as a side comment, Donald Trump played 24 games in his first 4 months in office.
The podcast is definitely worth a listen.
And by the way, Malcolm Gladwell really doesn’t like golf! The reasons why are what make this interesting.
