Increase your confidence without too much fuss

I watched this excellent video from Michael Bungay Stanier yesterday about building rock solid habits. He suggests any new habit needed to take less than 60 seconds.

Working recently with people trying to lift their confidence when presenting, I got them to stand in the “Wonder Woman” pose (legs firmly planted wide apart) while doing an exercise. The energy in the room lifted. It took way less than 60 seconds. Do it for 30 – 60 seconds before your next big meeting, presentation or difficult conversation and see what happens.

Alternatively if you want to lower your status to make someone else feel high status, the article suggests a few “cowering” poses.
