I spend a large part of my leisure time singing sea shanties in inner-west bars with a ragtag assortment of otherwise “normal” people. As I tell my friends who say “but i don’t like shanties”, it ain’t about the songs, it’s about the music and the singing in multi-part harmonies, and the fellow feeling.
