Swagger without substance can be a problem, as he suggests. Most women in organisations, though, suffer the opposite: they wait till their substance is WAY too good before they promote themselves.
The key is getting a balance: enough swagger to get you a seat at the table, enough substance and confidence in your ability to improvise to allow you to grow into the opportunity. Tough! It’s a personal branding issue as much as it’s a learning thing.
