Network by just getting along with others: Here is David Ogilvy from Hewlett Packard’s 11 Simple Rules For Getting Along With Others. Nothing new. But sometimes what is old is still good.
And I cannot recommend more highly this podcast on how to network from Adam Grant. If you hate to network you’ll love the podcast.
He also talks about some interesting concepts like “office housework” (women are more likely to be asked to do this kind of administrative thing, more poorly judged if they don’t do it, and less likely to parlay it into something bigger), and the importance of becoming a maven in order to network best (Turkish carpet seller becomes Angel Investor). You’ll love it.
