Smarter change

One of the fundamentals for consulting is great listening, followed closely by the ability to remember and re-package what you hear from the client or stakeholders.

An underpinning skill is the ability to take notes which make sense (along with a fundamental I learnt in my early days of analysing businesses: “No backlog on studies” – i.e. write it up and find the conclusions before the sun goes down, because amnesia sets in pretty quickly).

This book comes highly recommended if you want to get better at note taking.
