Intuition and when to use it

Insight, intuition, making faster decisions, I’m a junkie for that kind of stuff.

Here’s some great advice on when to use it. The distinction between a puzzle (which is soluble, has an answer) and a mystery (which may never be answerable) is a good one; mystery you must use your internal gut feel (just ask Miss Marple, Sherlock and Hercule Poirot). Puzzle you can go at logically. There’s way more in the article.

Then there’s Daniel Kahnemann’s advice on WHEN you can actually trust your judgement: bottom line – trust your gut feeling only when (1) you’re in a predictable environment, with (2) regular practice and (3) immediate feedback on your judgment.
