If your boss and their boss have a vision that’s written down, get a copy and understand it.
If they don’t have one written down you can bet they still have a vision.
Don’t be a whinger and ask them where the vision is and complain that it’s not there when asked what could be improved.
Ask them about what their ambitions for the team are and act as if that is true.
