Making successful offsites – the science

Here’s some science about motivation. Here are some quotes from the article

tendency to make more of an effort in the presence of others is known as social facilitation theory…For the most part, we try harder when we’re with others … but not always. Social loafing is the tendency to make less of an effort when working in a group.. There is plenty of evidence showing that the most joy and meaning we have in our lives comes from our connections with others.

So putting your entire team into a room so they can make connections, communicate about what matters, get their ducks in a row, is an excellent strategy to achieve this.
