In short they are: have business goals, retain customers, have a content strategy and keyword plan, use social marketing, listen through social technologies, integrate your PR with your online presence (that includes linked in), and think differently about ROI metrics. Although their examples are about bigger business (Cisco, HP, Dell), it would be a challenge to integrate some of these strategies into your own online presence.
