I really loved the Culture Code, Dan Coyle’s recent book. In this podcast he summarises the important ideas around creating psychological safety which he outlines in the book.
He says:
We’ve been running from lions a lot longer than we’ve been running for the bus
Separately, and related to the idea of psychological safety is that of respecting people. This HBR article outlines the how to and how not to make people in your team feel respected.
